The MK 23, by Heckler & Koch of Germany, is your default weapon. It is the prefered weapon of the US Special Operations COMmand, where it has been designated the MK 23 MODEL 0 US SOCOM. (This pistol appears in the Playstation hit: "Metal Gear Solid" as the SOCOM). While it may not be the most powerful weapon, it surely is the most reliable. A shot to the head will kill instantly 90% of the time. The other 10% account for very long-distance head shots, which will render your opponent down to 4-5 health points. The MK23 is the military version of HK's Mark 23 Civilian pistol. This pistol is recognized for its sheer quality, and durability. It can be set to Full Automatic, for one-button-hold constant firing, or set to Semi-Automatic, for repeat-button pressing. Full automatic fires a little faster than Semi, but accuracy drops severly. A proficient user can hit his enemy in the head 80% of the time on Semi-Automatic. This pistol holds a maximum of 2 extra clips, each holding 12 rounds, plus an already loaded clip. The MK23 can be fitted with laser-sight, and a sound/light supressor. You can also use Akimbo Pistols. Even though Akimbo is defined as "Having hands on hips, and elbows pointing outwards", in this case it means having 2 pistols at once, and firing the following order: Left Pistol, then Right, then Left, etc. (Note: You must collect two clips before being able to reload Akimbo Pistols). Learn to use this pistol correctly, as you will have to use it once the ammo of your primary weapon dissapears. Or you could learn to jump-kick like a kangaroo.
